About Dr Prarthana Saraswathi

At Athmikha Mind & Life, care is shaped not only by clinical expertise, but by how deeply a person feels seen, heard, and respected.

Dr Prarthana Saraswathi is a psychiatrist who believes that mental health care begins with listening — not just to symptoms, but to the person behind them.

She completed her MBBS and went on to pursue her MD in Psychiatry. Her clinical work spans a wide range of mental health concerns across the lifespan — from childhood and adolescence to adulthood and geriatric care.

Her approach to psychiatry is grounded in science, but guided by dignity, compassion, and deep respect for individual experience. She works with the understanding that emotional distress does not arise in isolation, but is shaped by relationships, life events, trauma, and the ways people learn to survive.

In her clinical work, Dr Prarthana takes time to understand the context of a person’s struggles — not rushing to labels, and not reducing individuals to diagnoses. Treatment plans are collaborative, carefully explained, and paced in a way that feels safe and respectful.

She works with a wide range of concerns including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related difficulties, psychotic disorders, relationship concerns, eating disorders, and women’s mental and sexual health. Her work integrates psychiatric treatment with psychotherapy and psychological understanding, always tailored to the person’s needs and readiness.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief — that the most important relationship a person will ever have is the one they have with themselves. Mental health care, in her view, is not about changing who someone is, but about helping them reconnect with themselves with more clarity, agency, and compassion.

At Athmikha, Dr Prarthana offers a space where people are met without judgement, treated with dignity, and supported in finding their way back to their lives.

Care is never rushed.
Listening is never skipped.
